85 South from Greensboro to Atlanta. Prepare for a lot of construction, prepare for crappy roads and prepare for crazy ass drivers. The Peach in Gaffney, SC is an icon to me. Growing up, I watched this 100 million gallon water tower being constructed during the family trips to Atlanta in the summers in the 1980's.
I also watched Spaghetti Junction emerge. This is the intersection at I-85 and I-285. It is a five-level stack interchange with 14 bridges, the highest rising 90 feet. This is a serious intersection and you'd better know where you are going and what lane you should be in. Those lanes change on a dime and you may think you are out of the way and the next thing you know you are a trucker sandwich.
